We cycled today about 40 miles from Rome to Syracuse, NY. It was cloudy and cool, but unlike yesterday, rain never came. As we pedaled out of Rome, we passed the beautiful Mohawk River:

... especially when we stopped to look at her favorite animal:
Sometimes we cycled on roads with a broad shoulder. Other times, we rode on the Erie Canal Trail:

And we met members of the Erieville Bicycle Club (http://erievillebicycleclub.com/) out for a ride to celebrate Independence Day. They were very cool, rode with us for a while and, after hearing about our ride, made us honorary members of their club!
